Rust official servers include two categories: servers run directly by Facepunch, the studio behind Rust, and servers operated by official Facepunch partners — trusted community organisations that meet strict quality and moderation standards.

Facepunch's own servers offer a pure, unmodified vanilla experience: standard gather rates, no third-party plugins, no pay-to-win. Partner servers follow the same philosophy but are maintained by established Rust communities approved by Facepunch. Both categories carry the official tag in-game and on the server browser.
